Obituary for Virginia Dare Tracy

Virginia Dare Headley Tracy joined friends and family in Heaven when she departed this life on Saturday, March 16, 2019. She was 88 years old and had been a resident of Genesis Sistersville Center since December, 2015, after breaking a hip.

Virginia was born May 19, 1930, near Pine Grove, at the home of her grandparents, and where she has made her permanent residence since April, 1960. She was the daughter of Ben and Joy Postlethwait Headley.

She was preceded in death by both her parents, her husband, William “Stub” Tracy, three daughters, Tamara Headley, Karen Greathouse, and Willa Larrimore, four sons-in-law, Allen Larrimore, Jerry Greathouse, Terry “Abe” Kirk and Steve Grimm, four brothers, Lewis Edwin “Dude”, Franklin Wayne, Jerry Dean “Frog”, and Gary “Benny”.

She is survived by three daughters, Linda Kirk, Susie Grimm and Shawn Coen, a son, Greg Headley (Holly),a sister, Melba Mason, a sister-in-law, Dorothy Headley, a son-in-law, Jim Coen, two granddaughters, Jessica Lemasters and Tera Greathouse, a grandson-in-law, Jeff Lemasters, Several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Virginia was a teacher, teachers aid and a full time mother.

Visitation will be at Palmer Funeral Home, Pine Grove, WV, from 2-8 PM on Tuesday, March 19, 2019. The funeral will be in Reader, WV at Trinity United Methodist Church at 1 PM, Wednesday, March 20, 2019. She has been a member there since 1941.

Her body will be laid to rest by her husband and near her daughters and sons-in-law at the Knights of Pythias Cemetery, Hastings, WV.
