Barr, Mabel F., 88, of Mobley, WV, went home to be with her lord and her loved ones on November 4, 2018 while surrounded by family at her home.
She was born January 2, 1930 in Jacksonburg, WV, the daughter of the late Okey and Massie Cross Hendershot.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Don Barr (1994), by three infant daughters, Donna, Patricia and Charlotte, a son, Jack Barr, siblings, Hershel, Genevieve, Laura, Bonnie, Bill, Toots, Ray, Floreine and Ervin, a great granddaughter, Maria.
Surviving is three daughters, Emma (Gerry) White of Big Run, WV, Joy (Dick) Morgan of Pine Grove, WV and Sandie (Carl) Bucher of Reader, WV, four sons, John (Angel) Barr of Mobley, WV, Dean (Diana) Barr of Jacksonburg, WV, Carl (Patsy) Barr of Pine Grove, WV and JB (Norma) Barr of Jacksonburg, WV, a daughter-in-law, Marlene Barr of Mobley, WV, a sister, Beatrice Huggins of Wileyville, WV, grandchildren, Beverly, Jason, Doug, Angie, Jenny, Jennifer, Kip, Bill, Carla, Chad, Ashley, Beth, Arisha, Marci, Stephanie, Jackie, Rosie Jo, Little John, Elisha and Chelsea, thirty four great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Mable and Don were married on September 6, 1947. They had 46 years together before his death in 1994. They always did their best for their children. They taught them to respect their elders, be a good neighbor and to always lend a hand where they could. The most important lesson they taught their kids was to love each other and to put their family first.
Friends will be received on Wednesday from 4-8 PM at Palmer Funeral Home, Pine Grove, WV, where the funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11 AM. Interment at the Schultz Cemetery, Jacksonburg, WV. Online condolences may be expressed at palmerfuneral.com.
